Literature Study: The Rescuers Map of Norway

 

We ended 2021 with a Literature Study based on the book, The Rescuers. 

The kids made a map of Norway and surrounding countries, as well as a Lego flag.

 

Message in a Bottle

They used the map to create a message in a bottle, requesting help if lost at sea.

 

Sea Shanties

Since Nils, the Norweigan mouse is a pirate, we learned about Sea Shanties, their place and purpose. A famous sea shanty popularized now, The Wellerman. 

CPR 

As part of Sci Fri, we watched tutorials to learn CPR, as the Rescuers had to perform on the prisoner once they set out for the sea. We learned infant, child and adult CPR and discussed a number of situations that might occur.
