O is for Owl

 

With the help of some beet juice-the kids set off on a letter scavenger hunt. They use a hand-drawn map of our property with stickers indicating the whereabouts of the letters. Once located, they can write the letters on the stickers and return home to unscramble (this one was meant for the littlest kid-but the big kids were kind enough to go along for the adventure;)

The big kids chose a species of owl to present and prepare visuals, in honour of The Great Backyard Bird Count. We've been lucky enough on our farm, over the past several years to encounter a family of five barn owls, a great horned owl and a snowy owl. Pretty impressive stuff!
