S is for Sir Cumference: Swords & Solids
Mr. M likes the Sir Cumference Math Adventure series by Cindy Neushwander. The Sword and the Stone is an exploration of geometric solids and Sir Cumference works with a set of clues to find the hidden sword.
The end of the book offers insight into the 'Law of Twos' that states: the number of faces + the number of points of a three dimensional solid - the number of edges will always equal two (except in the case of cones and cylinders.) We used our wooden geometric solids to test out the law.
