Simple Sprouting

Simple windowsill sprouting allows us to witness the work of roots and shoots. Wet a paper towel and use it to line a mason jar. Drop in a seed or bean and place in a warm, sunny location. Make sure to keep it moist but not soaking to prevent mold. Within a few days, you will start to notice the power of a seed at work and can watch the process until green leaves make an appearance. At that point we switch to soil and keep it near the windowsill until the threat of frost has passed.
