Math Monday: Pizza Garden
Kicking off the last days of Spring with Garden Labs. We borrowed The Gardening Lab for Kids by Renata Brown, to implement some of the amazing activities she has tested with children. To complement Math Monday-we created a Pizza Garden.
After choosing a plot of soil, use a stick and string to make a circle. The stick and string serve as a large compass.
Then lay down your stick to divide the pizza into quarters. Once that was done, we used a combination of seedlings (tomato), half grown plants (oregano, garlic) and seeds (basil) to fill in the quarters.
Complete this lesson (maybe a little later in the season) with homemade Botanical Pizza using the ingredients you have grown.
