Sci Fri: Shaduf

A shaduf was the earliest contraption created to move water from a low to a high spot. A frame held a teeter totter of sorts with a weight at one end and water vessel at the other, hanging from a rope. Farmers in Ancient Egypt would use models of the shaduf to carry water from the Nile to the neighbouring crops.

We designed ours on paper before attempting mini-models.
