Math Monday: Roman Arch

The Romans, much like the Egyptians had some pretty amazing math skills for such early civilization. We learned how they built and arch, for architecture such as aquaducts and bridges, courtesy of Morton Grove Public Library https://www.mgpl.org/blog/steam-corner-build-roman-arch

Hard work, indeed (and ours is only made of paper!)

We followed the instructions and used the pdf as a template, but we did add an extra trapezoid to make up for a void (Ha!) The extra worked as a keystone of sorts.

Miss C challenged herself not to use glue, but to have the 3D shapes hold themselves in place!

At last, we attempted an arch made of Magnatiles...and when that failed, we looked one up and copied it!
