Roman Gods: Child-Led Lesson

 j

Tying up our Roman Empire studies and segueing into Ancient Greece, we recruited our resident Mythology expert to teach a lesson on Roman Gods.

Fridays are reserved for Presentation Days (for the littler ones, Show & Tell) so she incorporated her lesson into presentation time and set out two levels of activities for her siblings. The first was a scavenger hunt and word scramble, hiding the nine planets to be matched according to size on a corresponding paper. The second level was an art lesson, complete with objects to trace that would serve as relative sizes of the planets.

She informed us Gaia (Earth) is the same in both Roman and Greek mythology. She came before the Titans, who are the God/Goddesses creators. Then she explained the relations between the Gods and their names in Roman and Greek mythology.
