Artists Study: Joan Miro Dice Roll

Warming up after winter holiday with a week of literacy activities based on the books of Matt Haig: Father Christmas and Me & The Girl who Saved Christmas. 

Mother Miro painted Father Christmas' portrait, so we took a look at Joan Miro the surrealist artist and played a Dice Roll Drawing game.

Study Miro's paintings and notice the shapes and lines he uses to come up with a Dice Roll chart. Each player rolls the die for a guideline of how to draw a portrait or figure.

Then we noted Miro's use of bold primary colours to complete the pieces.
