Medieval Europe: Stained Glass

As part of our study of the Church in the Middle Ages, the kids created their own versions of stained glass windows. The Victoria & Albert Museum posts a video of how stained glass was traditionally created https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5NOrG888CI

Since we lack lead and coloured glass, we opted for black cardstock and kite paper. The designs were set to be symmetrical, so the original was a simple, mirror-image outline. Once complete, they darkened the lines and copied onto cardstock to be cut with exact-o blade precision. They then chose their colour patterns and glued segments onto the back of the design.
