Pines: Pinecone Bird Feeders (and eaters!)

 

Since we had a selection of pine cones from the Guess Box game, we easily segued into our Pinecone Feeder activity. We read this alongside the sweet story, The Night Tree by Eva Bunting about a family who decorates a forest pine with edibles for the animals.

 Spoiler alert-they can be quite tasty for humans too!

Simply smother your pine cones in nut butter and a wee loop of yarn at the top, before rolling in a mixture of bird seed.
