Thirteen
When I have had my evening bath,
And run upstairs and give a laugh,
And Mother switches off the light,
I'll still be twelve years old tonight.
But, from the very break of day,
Before the children rise and play,
Before the greenness turns to gold,
Tomorrow, I'll be thirteen years old.
Thirteen kisses when I wake.
Thirteen candles on my cake!
And run upstairs and give a laugh,
And Mother switches off the light,
I'll still be twelve years old tonight.
But, from the very break of day,
Before the children rise and play,
Before the greenness turns to gold,
Tomorrow, I'll be thirteen years old.
Thirteen kisses when I wake.
Thirteen candles on my cake!
Such a beautiful person inside and out.
How lucky am I to watch her grow up....
