Lunar New Year: Rice Sensory & Zen Gardens

 

 

Do not think for a moment that sensory bins are for babies. As soon as the table is stocked with an assortment of kitchen tools and a few bowls of dried rice (beans, lentils etc.) kids of all ages come running. Why do you think Zen Gardens were created? We all need some peaceful sensory moments...

A little game of hide and seek works well for the youngest of the bunch. We have a couple of Chinese New Year trinkets that we bury at the bottom of the bowl. At least an hour of peaceful play. Ahhhh....
