Earth Day: Lovely Little Landscapes

 

Choose your colour palette (above: pink, orange, sky blue, lime green). 

Select a great background colour to compliment the palette (above: orange). 

Use watercolour to paint a background wash. Allow to dry.

Map out foreground and background lines (if the landscape is hilly/mountainous, these lines will not run straight horizontally.)

Use chalk pastel to colour block your sections of foreground and background (above: sky, clouds, hills, grass).

Use darker shades from your palette to add dimension to details (above: trees, foliage, flowers)

We also created an outline of pink/orange to separate our grass from hills from clouds to sky.

Once you have the above formula, change up your palette choices and try another design.
