Littles are learning about the water cycle with water and a ziploc baggie. First we learned the terms for the water cycle (evaporation, condensation and precipitation) and read the amazing picture book 'Water is Water' by Miranda Paul. Then we labeled the bag, poured in some coloured water and sealed it to hang in a sunny window. As the sun heats up the water, it climbs and clings to the plastic (evaporation). Once it becomes too heavy (condensation) it drips back to the base of the bag (precipitation) and the cycle begins again.
