Magnets: Painting
For our final day of magnet studies, we decided to get messy with magnet painting.
Equip each child with a selection of paper, a magnet, ferromagnetic metals (paperclip, nuts & bolts, screws) an assortment of paint from a tube (watercolour or acrylic).
Demonstrate how to dollop a pea-sized amount of paint on the paper, place the metal material on top and the magnet below. Drag the magnet to 'draw' a picture.
The littlest of the group learned that if you fold a paper with paint on it, you can create symmetrical designs. He made a solid handful of these!
Even our eldest was happy to be involved and attempted creating letters and images.
