Witches: Carbon Paper Art

 

Hallowe'en has come and gone, but we're headed into a month-long study of witches, Salem and paganism. As usual, we start with art!

The kids created their own carbon paper with aluminum foil and black oil pastels. Simply cover one side of the foil with black pastel and tape it pastel side down to a piece of paper. Draw a design with a pencil (our goal was to cover the space.) and lift to see the carbon creation.

We prepped these ahead of time and attached them to mini clipboards for our Monday morning jaunt to the forest, for class.
