Egg-Speriments: Egg-in-a-bottle
If we're doing Egg-Speriments, this is the one that gets the most hype and they all remember it fondly.
Egg-in-a-bottle is an incredible simple experiment with great results. We chose a glass bottle with a wider mouth (kombucha bottle) so the egg rests nicely on top. Hard boil as many eggs as you will be using. Peel away the shell. Place a piece of newspaper, lit in fire, into the dry bottle and set the egg on top. As the bottle cools, the air contracts and creates a 'vacuum' effect on the egg, which now gets sucked inside the bottle.
So. Much. Fun.
We never boil enough eggs for this one, as they could watch this for hours.
