Egg Study: Fuzzy Chicks
Such a sweet and simple felting activity for our artist-in-residence. Using roving wool, take a loose length and make a loose knot in the center, for the hens body. Tuck in one end for the head and loosely knot the other end for the tail. Then using a felting needle (with barbed ends), felt loose bits back into the body to create shape and form. Roll a tiny bit of red to felt into the head for a comb, and a tiny triangle of orange for the beak. Roll two beady eyes and felt them in too.
She set them in walnut shells, once they were tight and tidy, but not before making some tiny white eggs to rest under the ladies!
