Oceans: Salt & Crayon Resist

This art project is spanning the next week or two, while we examine Ocean Biology. First, take a piece of watercolour paper and frame it in painters tape. Then use a white crayon to draw horizontal waves across the page. Using watercolour paints, spread washes over the crayon, keeping in mind the shades of the zones (dark at the base, becoming more light as it nears the sun.)

While wet, sprinkle on salt for a resist.

Each day we study a new ocean animal, we are creating a small version to add to the zones in the watercolour work.
