Costume Design

 

Every year, the kids and their friends collaborate their costumes before creating them from scratch. This year, the theme was LOTR and they had superfans gawking at their creations that made them look set-ready!

Assigned projects are tossed to the wayside, as they spend the week snipping, sewing and adding details to their designs. Miss C started with a duvet cover and ended up with a hooded cloak!

For Gandalf, Miss O purchased a gray bedsheet and refurbished it twice over; the first design lacking the tailored bits she hoped for. So she snipped half of it away, added some pleats, stitched delicate flame details up the back and a set of smart buttons down the center. Not to mention the weeks she spent choosing and shaping wood for the staff!
