Movement & Force: Newtons Cradle (MOMENTUM)

While the little kids were creating Cup Towers, the big ones were building bases for Newtons Cradles.

Miss C's popsicle stick base worked really well. It was strong enough and had ample space for swinging with no obstacles in the way. The key is to measure as accurately as possible so the marbles line up evenly and touch. They did this by measuring the marbles diameter and using that to mark the thread placement.

These work incredibly well and use only 4 things easily found at home: popsicle sticks, marbles, hot glue and thread.

You can test it by swinging one marble, then two, then three to watch for amazing results!
