Snow & Ice: Frozen Watercolour
This project was all about the process and not much about the product. The youngest two got busy mixing watercolour paint in concentrations strong enough to paint with when frozen. Mr. M has been in potion mode, purchasing little bottles and making a bottle stand, so it was perfect timing for concoctions.
Once you have your paint ready, pour into molds and send outdoors to time the freezing process. The first time around, we neglected to add a string or stick, to help with painting. It's good to check on your stages of freezing to secure a stick.
The testing process involved swirling the frozen paint molds around the paper, resting the molds so they could melt and make designs (this was super successful!) and using paper towels instead of paper, as the colour saturated in a specific way on different surfaces.
