Pollinators: Hexagon Hives

After watching the lovely series Beekeeping Made Simple to learn about hives and honeycombs, we set out to create hexagons for Math Monday out of bubble wrap!

First create a cardboard hexagon as your template. You can glue bubble wrap, bubble-side up, to the cardboard and trim the excess.

Then, using a paint roller, apply yellow/golden paint to your hexagon bubbles to press onto paper. It's a nice effect to have the hexagons fit snugly next to one another, as would be arranged in a hive.

Add bee or stages of bee life, as extra.
