Annual Book List 2025-26 (Family Read Aloud)
As we say good-bye to June and hello to summertime studies, we present our Annual Book List: Family Read-Alouds.
Besides art and outdoors, read-alouds are by far my favourite part of the day. All the kids grab something to do with their hands as they laugh or cry or beg for another chapter. We tend to take author marathons occasionally. We took a trip down memory lane with Judy Blume. Though she is nowhere near the top of my lit list, the kids laughed-out-loud at the antics of little Fudge, so we went on a Blume Marathon. I read the Chronicles of Narnia to the big kids when they were wee, so we're starting over with the Littles, but the older listen in and recall good memories of playing their favourite characters with friends.
If there is any part of homeschooling that I hope the kids carry with them, it would be endless hours outdoors and loving good lit.
