Bushcraft: Pinecone Torches
Next up for fire focus, was Pinecone Torches. There were several steps involved and it turned out to be a two-day activity, as when you need tree resin, it's no where to be found!
Quarter & Stretch with sticks before inserting long cone
When you're not looking for sticky, waxy tree resin, you will find it in your hair, your fingertips, on your clothes (sanitizer takes it out!) However, we needed lots and couldn't locate any, so Miss O took to scarring a live pine branch and returning in the morning for collection.
Once you have collected resin in an old can, melt it down on a bonfire and pour it over your cone.
