Five-in-a-Row: (Frog & Toad 'Surprise')

 

September has brought out some Literature Studies for all; Frog & Toad Five-in-a-Row for the younger kids and Neverending Story for the older two.

We spent the week reading Frog & Toad 'Surprise' in which these two amphibian friends are trying to do a favour for one another by secretly raking leaves. Their 'Surprise' goes awry, unbeknownst to them, keeping them both content in anticipation. You can't go wrong with Frog & Toad!

We prepared a Letter Decoder with an Autumn watercolour palette. We decided to make things less confusing, to keep the letters and coinciding numbers, the same colour. Provide a code sheet alongside the problem.

We hopped onto Art Hub for an adorable leaf tutorial, while learning Leaf Anatomy (stem, veins, teeth!)

We also had old school crayon rubbings to identify leaves in our own backyard!
