Five-in-a-Row: Mushroom Prints (Children of the Forest)

These simple potato prints turned out nothing short of extraordinary! My reluctant artist, loved helping carve the stamps and then embellished them with tone and shading! Jaw drop!

First cut your potato in a clean half. Use a pencil to outline your image. Then use a sharp knife to carve out a stamp. We had two options for two children working together.

Offer paints and brushes. Instead of stamping colour onto the potato, paint the colours of your choice. We focused on a stem and a cap colour, to keep it simple.
The shading came in after printing.
I'm still floored at the results.
